Diverse Suppliers

Frito-Lei Supplier Diversity Department is committed to being an effective conduit for diverse suppliers through the use of Supplier Diversity Partners management system.

All suppliers need to register with Frito-Lei and complete the Supplier Diversity Partners registration form. Be prepared to answer several questions as a part of our initial registration process. To begin the process follow the steps below:

If you have any questions regarding the form, double click the FAQ section and the "Frequently Asked Question" page will appear.

As we have now moved to an on-line system, we require suppliers to enter their company information, in order for us to pursue business opportunities. It is our hope that you'll take this opportunity to work more closely with us.

Once a supplier completes the registration, the information is downloaded into our Supplier Diversity Partners database. When a bid opportunity arises, the database will be used to source companies. It will be your responsibility to update your company information on our site as needed.

Non-Diverse Suppliers (Second Tier Reporting)
It is Frito-Lay's expectation that majority suppliers share the same value regarding Supplier Diversity through the utilization of a second tier program. Under this program, Frito-Lei works with large corporate suppliers to assist them in establishing Supplier Diversity Programs similar to Frito-Lei's. This effort is designed to create more opportunities for minority owned businesses in the snack food industry. It is especially helpful for smaller minority businesses that do not have the capacity to supply Frito-Lei and other manufacturers directly. The 2nd Tier Program continues to expand each year and now generates millions of M/WBE dollars by our first tier suppliers. We urge you as one of our preferred suppliers to pursue the following:

  • Target M/WBE purchases at a level of 5-10% of your Frito-Lei related revenue
  • Provide specifications and take extra steps to make matches
  • Execute an aggressive Supplier Diversity program
  • Monitor progress/ensure success
  • Report to us on a monthly basis

Second Tier Reporting Process
In order to report your minority and women spend please go to Supplier Diversity Partners Second Tier Registration. The system is available for reporting between the 1st and 15th of each month. Depending on your type of industry, there may be different structures in place to facilitate Frito-Lei's request. The following questions are provided to help guide you in developing or enhancing your commitment to utilize M/WBE and to meet Frito-Lei's expectations. We’re not suggesting that you establish a different structure; we merely ask you to use these inquiries to begin thinking about how best to work with us.

  • Does your company have an M/WBE policy?
  • Is there a designated individual to contact related to your minority business objectives?
  • Are measures in place to monitor and report internally and to Frito-Lei? If you have government requirements, check with the individual who handles these reports.
  • Do you have minority dealers/distributors/franchisees? If so, utilizing these dealers on Frito-Lei projects will contribute to M/WBE goals.
    • Would you be willing to explore a joint venture or partnership with a qualified and interested M/WBE to meet our future requirements? If so, advise your Frito-Lei Buyer.
